Amlasanden Fjordcamping is a good starting point for attractions in the inner part of Sogn.

KAUPANGER STAVECHURCH

Kaupanger stavechurch is within walking distance from Amlasanden Fjordcamping.

Kaupanger stavechurch is the largest stave church in Sogn. It is still in use as the local church in Kaupanger. In the summerseason the church is open for visitors but an entrance fee is mandatory.

SOGN FJORDMUSEUM
Sogn Fjordmuseum is a part of the bigger museum, Sogn Folkemuseum. The fjordmuseum is located on the ferry terminal in Kaupanger. It is open in the summer season and entry is free of charge

FERRY RIDE TO GUDVANGEN THROUGH THE UNESCI WORLD HERITAGE FJORD NÆRØYFJORDEN

From the ferry terminal in Kaupanger there is a car ferry to Gudvangen in the summer season. The ferry takes you through the beautiful Nærøyfjorden which is listed in the UNESCO world heritage list

SOGN FOLKEMUSEUM – DE HEIBERGSKE SAMLINGER

Sogn Folkemuseum is located approximately 6 km from Amlasanden camping. The museum has a large outdoor area with old buildings from the area. In the summerseason they have animals and it is possible to join guided tours around the museum. It is a nice place for families, with both a playground and a cafeteria.

JOSTEDALSBREEN- THE LARGEST GLACIER IN NORTHERN EUROPE
It is possible to reach several of the works fampus glaciers of the Jostedalsbreen from Amlasanden Fjordcamping.

Nigardsbreen in Jostedalen is about 1,5 hours drive from Amlasanden. By Nigardsbreen is Norsk Breheimsenter, a center with information about the glaciers located. From here you can join glacier walks, kayaking and rafting

Fjærland is about 1 hour drive from Amlasanden. In Fjærland they have a nice glaciermuseum, Norsk Bremuseum. It is possible to visit Brevasshytta, where you can eat local dinner when watching the glacier close by.

THE SNOWROAD BETWEEN LÆRDAL AND
The mpuntain road, the snowroad takes you across the mountain from Lærdal to Aurland. It is a very nice trip, onøy open in the summer.

FLÅM RAILWAY
From Flåm you can take the world famous railway to Myrdal.
